To celebrate the upcoming release of Memoir of a Snail, we’re excited to announce the Memoir of a Snail Short Film Challenge
 
Local Oscar winner Adam Elliot's gorgeous claymation feature is a love letter to the places he grew up in, and we’re inviting you to create a short film (no longer than 5 minutes) about of the suburb YOU grew up in. 
 
This is your chance to share your story and have it seen by audiences across the country!
 
The best short film, as chosen by Village Cinemas, will be featured in the pre-show of every session of Memoir of a Snail, starting Thursday, 17th October.
But that’s not all... the winning filmmaker will also have the unique opportunity to meet the brilliant mind behind Memoir of a Snail, writer/director Adam Elliot himself.

Terms & Conditions.

Films must not exceed 5 minutes but can be as short as you like. Films can't exceed the classification of MEMOIR OF A SNAIL. Whilst the film is yet to be classified, please ensure that it's at least suitable for 15-year-olds. Preferred format is MP4 shared via a YouTube or Vimeo link. We will not have the capacity to download any files. To celebrate the homegrown spirit of MEMOIR OF A SNAIL, we're challenging participants to make and/or submit original films about the suburb they grew up in. Films that do not follow this theme will not be considered Village Cinemas will select only one film to screen with Memoir of a Snail based on a combination of factors, including (but not exclusively) how captivating the story is, how creatively the theme of the competition is explored, and how well crafted the production is. Applications close on Thursday, September 19 at 11.59pm. There will be no way to submit applications after this time. The winning film will be officially classified for exhibition thanks to Memoir of a Snail distributor, Madman Details and conditions for the winner's meet-and-greet with Memoir of a Snail director, Adam Elliot will be confirmed with the winning participant at a later date
