VILLAGE CINEMAS EMBRACES ASIAN CINEMA

Village Cinemas has announced its support of Melbourne's growing Asian population by committing to a consistent schedule of first release mainstream Asian movies.

Commencing July 30 2009, Village Cinemas will begin screening first release Asian movies under the Cine Asia banner, screening at Village Cinemas Crown Casino in the CBD, Village Cinemas Sunshine and Village Cinemas Century City in Glen Waverley.

Backed by Australia’s leading cinema chain, fans of Asian cinema can now enjoy a consistent monthly stream of quality Asian movies, all in Chinese with English sub-titles, at selected Village Cinemas.

The Storm Warriors - Opening December 10
The Storm Warriors is the sequel to 1998's 'The Storm Riders' (which was based on the comic 'Fung Wan') and sees Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok reprising their roles of Wind and Cloud.

Evil Japanese warlord, Lord Godless (Simon Yam) is intent on conquering China. In an effort to succeed, he imprisons all of the Chinese martial artists and attempts to make them subjugate. Amongst the prisoners is Cloud (Aaron Kwok) and the martial arts elder statesman, Nameless (Kenny Ho). Thankfully, Wind (Ekin Cheng) comes to the rescue, but all three are badly wounded during the battle to escape. Chu Chu (Tang Yan) also shows up and takes a direct strike from Lord Godless when she jumps in to save Cloud. The remaining martial artists sacrifice their lives to save the trio as they believe they are the only hope to beat Lord Godless and save the country. Nicholas Tse, Charlene Choi and Lam Suet also feature.
