3D System

Village have installed the RealD 3D system, the world's first and leading stereoscopic projection system for digital cinema. First deployed in 2005 it is now the most widely developed 3D projection system in the world with over 5,000 installations worldwide.

3D Glasses

The RealD glasses are comfortable plastic glasses that are available at Village Cinemas location for $1. They are designed to fit easily and comfortably on any guests that are over three years old and also over the top of prescription glasses. Best of all, the glasses are yours to keep after the screening and can be re-used for your next 3D experience at Village Cinemas.

RE-USE YOUR 3D GLASSES AND SAVE!

Help Village Cinemas reduce our carbon footprint by reusing your 3D glasses each time you attend a Village Digital 3D screening. Plus you'll save $1 each time you do by not having to purchase a new pair!

Digital Cinema

Village have installed 2K digital cinema projectors into its 3D ready auditoriums that help to ensure that the film quality is perfect, from the first screening to the last.

How 3D Works

3D works by presenting viewers with a slightly separated set of images for the left and right eye in such quick succession that our brain perceives the images as appearing at the same time and having a depth of field (with the RealD system you are actually being shown 144 images every second!). The glasses ensure that the right eye only sees the images intended for the right eye and the same for the left eye.
